Technical interviews are both super stressful for the candidates and pretty low-signal for the interviewers.
As a hiring manager, I found out a simple way to make interviewing less stressful for candidates was to give them the choice to do a take home project, using their own tools and then to review it asynchronously.
However, there's a fair bit of logistics involved in giving out these projects, so I built Fairlane because I wanted a tool that played well with the applicant tracking system I was using.
